A look back at career day aboard the AIDAbella

The unquestionable highlight of this year’s Recruiting Days was Career Day on 2 September 2008 on board the AIDAbella. The core concept of this series of events was to give applicants a close-up and personal glimpse into the lifestyle and working experience on board in conjunction with a job selection process.

Qualified specialists and managers in the areas of technology, bartending, the kitchen and the restaurant were called beforehand to apply for this exclusive Career Day on Board. The best 36 candidates were awarded an invitation to come on board the AIDAbella.

After a company presentation and information about life and work on board we proceeded to a tour around the ship led by department managers. The technical engineering group received a special tour of the engine room and technical facilities, while the hotel personnel had the opportunity to make a closer visit to the restaurants, bars and kitchen facilities.

In a final aspect of the selection process, they were able to apply their know-how directly in their forthcoming work site. Personal interviews and roundtables with colleagues on board rounded out the day. Many candidates impressed us with the personal and professional qualities to such a degree that they already had received their job offer during the day on board.

By the way, our next Career Day is planned to take place in April 2009 on board the AIDAluna.
