IMS policy at AIDA Cruises
Cruise responsibly:
New vacation experiences every day, excellent service and exciting entertainment – that's what the leading German cruise operator AIDA Cruises offers its guests. The company, headquartered in Rostock, is very well established as both tour operator and shipping line. The current fleet comprises six ships, and will be expanded by an additional 3 vessels by the year 2012. The company's sustainability strategy is the foundation for continuous growth: it is important for AIDA Cruises to harmonize commercial success with the needs of the environment and society. AIDA Cruises uses an Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure the practical realization of this target.
IMS is a comprehensive tool designed for the optimization of the operational and organizational structure – above all in the areas of quality, environment, occupational health and safety, public health and social responsibility. AIDA Cruises is committet toregular review and continual improvement in these areas a key priority.
For us, compliance with national and international regulations is a matter of course. On the basis of IMS, AIDA Cruises defines binding company standards and guidelines that go beyond the statutory regulations applicable to maritime operations.
The effectiveness of the Integrated Management System is regularly audited and approved by third party: for instance, the AIDA IMS is certified according to ISO international standards by the leading maritime classification and certification organization, Germanischer Lloyd.
The AIDA IMS enables us to satisfy the expectations of our guests, employees, shareholders, society and other stakeholders, and fulfill our corporate responsibility in all its activities. This includes, for instance, protection of the marine environment, prevention of accidents, the establishment of an open and transparent corporate culture, and selection of business partners who are committed to the pursuance of identical principles.
