Achieving objectives with quality

We are proud of the recognition that we received for our performance in 2016:

At AIDA every effort every day is made to ensure our guests feel at ease and competently cared for both onboard and ashore at all times. Our commitment was rewarded for the third consecutive time with the German Fairness Prize 2016. The German Institute for Service Quality conducted a comprehensive consumer survey in cooperation with the n-tv news channel and collected ca. 45,000 opinions from customers on more than 400 companies. AIDA was ranked first and as such was evaluated as the best company in the cruise line industry. The main aspects of the survey conducted across Germany were amongst others the cost to benefit relation, product reliability, services or company statements, transparency on price information, product and contractual performance.

Besides the many positive statements from our guests, the title ‘Service Champion’ provides us with extra special pleasure. In 2016 AIDA Cruises ranked fifth from 2,615 companies analyzed in Germany’s biggest service ranking and was therefore able to assert itself in the market. As a consequence, AIDA was awarded the Golden Seal for service quality. AIDA was the winner in a competition with eight other shipping lines, achieving the highest value for customer service provided in the cruise ship industry.

In addition, AIDA was the industry winner last year achieving gold status as a family-friendly company. The German Institute for Service Quality conducted a survey of over 400 companies from 61 industries in partnership with the newspaper Welt am Sonntag and the Goethe University Frankfurt/Main.

AIDA has always considered family and leisure activities to be of great importance onboard their ships. These activities include a broad range of programs for every generation as well as specially designed cabins and leisure activities. Our ship AIDAprima received the coveted cruise guide award in this regard as ‘Best Ship of the Year 2017’ in the ‘sport and wellness’ and ‘family friendly’ categories.

In 2016 AIDA was also once again recognized by Focus Money in the Germany Test as the most favored brand in the ‘Customer Favorite’ category. We received the ‘Gold’ certification as the best placed and particularly highly valued brand in the category of cruise operators & shipping lines.

We continually invest in practical basic and advanced training for our employees, and support the most motivated and promising of our colleagues with their personal career development. It was for this dedication that AIDA Cruises was once again distinguished by the international research company, Top Employers Institute, with the “Top Employer in Germany 2016” award. This annual review analyses leading employers all over the world. Company offers were analyzed in the areas of personnel planning, training and career planning, leadership development, compensation and benefits as well as corporate culture amongst others.


AIDA has also set the highest standards in training over the course of recent years. This commitment was recognized for the eighth time in a row by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in Rostock with the ‘Top Training Organization 2016’ award. The IHK awards this hallmark of quality to companies which stand out due to special initiatives for apprentices, continuity and creativity in vocational training. Further awards such as e.g. ‘Fair Company 2016’ and ‘Top 100 Employer Germany 2016’ acknowledge the work done for our employees.



All these prizes and awards serve as an incentive for us to continue giving our utmost.
