AIDA supports "Maritime Labour Convention 2006"

Rostock, 20. August 2013

As of August 20, 2013, the ILO "Maritime Labour Convention 2006" (MLC) applies to all ship owners. This international convention regulates the labor and living conditions on board vessels for more than 1.2 million seamen and women worldwide. The MLC contains uniform regulations concerning, for example, accommodations, catering, social insurance, medical care and occupational safety.

AIDA has always taken the needs and the well-being of each individual crew member very seriously and supports the international Maritime Labour Convention. The living and working conditions on board the AIDA fleet fulfill the requirements of the MLC. AIDA thus ensures a modern, comfortable and safe living environment for our employees on board.
